Swing Dance（译名：摇摆舞），是绝大多数源于美国20到40年代的“Swing时代”的黑人社区的舞蹈的统称。在“Swing时代”，Swing音乐（一种Swing风格的爵士乐）相当于是当时的流行音乐而这套跟着Swing音乐起舞的舞蹈也因此得名。其中最为出名的Swing舞是一种双人舞，Lindy Hop，以其充满活力的风格和即兴起舞的特性而著名。（当然，就像Swing音乐，Lindy Hop也可以有着各种各样的风格和情调) 其它一些Swing舞还包括而不仅甚于：Charleston， Balboa， Collegiate Shag，和St. Louis Shag.。自80年代起，Swing舞又再次获得新的活力并在Lindy Hop代言大使，最著名的Swing舞元老之一的Frankie Manning的推广下被传到了世界各地。

Swing dance is a general name for a collection of dancing mostly created by the African American community between the 1920s and 40s during the "Swing Era", a time when the swing music (a swing style Jazz) is the pop of that period and what the swing dance was danced to, hence the origin of the name of the dance. The most well known and popular dance among swing dance is the Lindy Hop, a form of partner dancing with a distinct characteristic of being energetic and improvisational, just like the swing music it's best danced to. (Of course, just like the swing music, Lindy Hop can have different kind of tone and style depending on the music it's danced to) Other form of swing dance includes, but not limited to: Charleston, Balboa, Collegiate Shag, and St. Louis Shag. The Swing dance has been re-popularized since the 80s, and with the help of the ambassador of the Lindy Hop, one of original swing dancers , the famous Frankie Manning, was spread to every corner of the world.
